Learn to paint the four seasons, each distinguished by its own temperature, weather patterns, plants, and animals. Mr. Liu will teach different flowers to show different seasons in the next few months.
Take a Saturday afternoon to relax, create, and meditate with Chinese brush painting.
Class 1: Wintersweet Flower
Wintersweet (腊梅) is a popular Chinese winter scene. The wintersweet flower represents an independent, strong spirit. Despite its diminutive size, this red flower still blooms while covered by snow.
Class 2: Narcissus Flower
The narcissus is a spring flower, often blooming around the Lunar New Year. Welcome the Year of the Ox by painting the narcissus!
Class 3: Peach Flower
Peach flowers bloom in the early spring, covering trees with cheerful red and pink blossoms before they bear fruit. Originally native to China, many Chinese ancient poets have written poems about the flower.
Class 4: Yulan Magnolia
Yulan magnolia (玉兰花) is native to central and eastern China. It has been cultivated in Chinese Buddhist temple gardens since 600 AD. Its flowers were regarded as a symbol of purity in the Tang Dynasty and they were planted at the grounds of the Emperor's palace.
