Celebrating the Year of the Snake and the Arts

On Tuesday, February 25, 85 guests gathered at Pao Arts Center to ring in the Year of the Snake and celebrate AAPI artists and the community. Leadership Council members, long-time supporters, and first-time visitors joined us and raised $12,300. This year, chef Asia Mei of Moonshine 152 provided sophisticated Southern-inspired Asian fare. In addition to the festive decor, guests enjoyed classical music by Leona Chung and Ming-hang Tam. Thank you to everyone who joined us!

The art gallery was energetic and alive as we hosted Serpentine Celebrations: Mural and Gallery Exhibit, featuring an interactive 50-foot-long snake mural by Amanda 陳 Beard Garcia. Guests were invited to add their New Year’s wishes written on golden scales, bringing luck and fortune to the year ahead.

Our gallery also featured Lunar New Year themed work for sale by 17 local artists. Artists in attendance mixed and mingled with guests to share more about their creative practice. Several guests even expanded their art collection by purchasing works from the exhibit that evening.
Thank you to all of the party guests, attending artists, volunteers, and members of the community for coming together to support Pao Arts Center and ring in the Year of the Snake with warmth and happiness.
