As part of a film screening series curated by Nate Shu, join us in a free screening of Giant Robot: Asian Pop Culture and Beyond from the KCET Original series Artbound.
Founded in 1994, Giant Robot was a bimonthly magazine that covered Asian popular culture and featured Asian American artists. This film explores how Giant Robot generated interest in Asian and Asian American pop culture, and explores Sawtelle Avenue as a Japanese American enclave, that ultimately created a legacy of Asian American artists who achieved worldwide recognition.
